[O God! fill my heart with your full love and only Your love for Thy Grace on behalf of Hazrat Maulawi Fazl Ahmad Khan Raipuri.]
Huzur Maharaj [Hazrat Maulana Fazl Ahmad Khan Sahib Rahmatullahu Alehi] was born in the year 1847 [AD] in Qusba - Raipur Khas, Tehsil - Kaimganj in Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh < Dargah of Shah Fazl Ahmad Khan Sahib 1838-1907 - Flickrhttps://www.flickr.com › photos › kennyboy9> . He was born and brought up and had his formal education here. For earning his livelihood, he went to Farrukhabad and later returned back to Raipur. His father was Janab Gulam Hussain Sahab, who was a disciple of Hazrat Maulana Waliuddin [Rahmatullahu Alehi], a great Sufi saint of Kashmir and succeeded him in that Order.
He was employed in the army at the post of ‘Nishan Bardar’. Huzur Maharaj’s mother was initiated by Hazrat Maulana Afzal Shah Naqshbandi, who was a disciple and successor of Hazrat Maulana Abul Hasan Nasirabadi [R. A.] used to say about her that- “My daughter has the capability to change the destiny and the will of God”. An incident relates to Hazrat Maulana Abdul Gani Sahab a co-disciple of Huzur Maharaj that one day the younger brother of Huzur Maharaj, Hazrat Maulvi Vilayat Hussain Khan Sahab and Hazrat Maulana Abdul Gani Sahab was to appear in an examination together. While going to appear for the exam both of them separately requested her to pray for them. She agreed. When both of them returned from examination, they asked her about the outcome of her prayers. She was such a simple and truthful person that she told them that whenever she raised her hands in prayer for the younger brother of Huzur Maharaj, instead of him his [Janab Abdul Gani Sahab] face would appear before her and thus she could not pray for her own son.
Without this Great Sufi Saint [Huzur Maharaj],
there is, NO LAALAA JI, no Chachchaa Ji, no Babuji, no SRCM, no Dr Chaturbhuj Sahai, no Ramashram Satsang or none of the so many worldwide Missionaries in the name of Laalaa Ji Maharaj of Fatehgarh UP.

Hazrat Shah Fazl Ahmad Khan Sahib Rahmatullahu Alehi [Huzur Maharaj] Born - 1838; Died - 1907 [AD]. He had two sons and two daughters. His sons – [i] Hazrat Maulvi Niyaz Ahmad Khan went to Ajmer [Rajasthan] and remained there till his death. He was buried near Ajmer. The other son, [ii] Hazrat Maulvi Mohammad Ahmad Khan was born in 1898 [AD] at Raipur, Farrukhabad UP. His worldly and spiritual education was conducted by Hazrat Vilayat Husain Khan. After passing High School [Tenth class] he went to his brother-in-law [sister’s husband] at Lashkar, Gwalior MP. After passing his ambulance course he was appointed as a compounder in Military Hospital on 08.08.1921 [AD] at Murar MP. There he married himself to a daughter of Hazrat Chhote Khan brother of Hakim Mohammad Ramzan Khan Kadri. Hazrat Mohammad Ahmad Khan completed his spiritual education under his uncle Hazrat Vilayat Husain Khan. After completing his spiritual education, he was initiated into the ‘Order’ and was announced his heir in 1931 [AD]. He left for his heavenly abode on six Rabi-ul-avval 1353 Hijri, 19.06.1934 [AD]. He was buried at Taqia in the Garden of Col. Hasan Khan Lashkar, Gwalior [MP]. His [Huzur Maharaj] – [i] Mrs Azmatullah Begham, died after a few months of her marriage. The other [ii] younger daughter, Hazrat Iffat Begham, who was married to Hazrat Khushnood Ali Khan of Rampur, who was in defence service at Gwalior, expired at Gwalior [MP]. Hazrat Iffat Begham [widow] lived with her son at Jahangirabad Bhopal. She also died in 1975 [AD] leaving two sons and four daughters. Her elder son, Hazrat Shaukat Ali Khan has gone to Karachi, Pakistan with his family. The younger son, Hazrat Sultan Ahmad Khan lived in Bhopal with his family [till his death]. His mother lived with him till she died.
Huzur Maharaj passed all examinations in the first division during his academic career, including the Middle school and the Normal training examination [for teaching]. He learnt Arabic and the Persian languages from Hazrat Khalifa Ji Sahab [Janab Ahmad Ali Khan Sahab - Rahmat Ullahu Alehi], who was his spiritual teacher also and the initiator into the Silsila Aliya of Naqshabandiya-Mujaddadiya-Mazahaiya. He [Huzur Maharaj] always kept his spiritual training and the company of his Master above all worldly affairs and his livelihood. In this regard, he used to narrate an incident related to the aforesaid truth: “Once I was unemployed. It was the 10th of December. My Master enquired as to how much money I would need for my livelihood. I requested him to pray for five rupees per month, besides food. My Master thought for a little while and then said, ‘You are employed from the First on this emolument.’ I did not believe it. My Master made it out and asked me and I did not believe it. I mentioned that it will be true but it is strange that I am not aware of my employment till the Tenth of the month. On hearing this from me Hazrat Sahab ordained me, 'Secrets revealed to you, as a result of your spiritual progress, should not be made known to others. When a dedicated disciple like you does not believe, what can be expected of others?’ When I left my Master’s premises, I came to know that Munshi Badri Prasad had arranged a job for me in Jared. I joined the job. After twenty days when I was paid the salary, it was for the whole month i.e., from 1st to 31st of December.”
His Master, Hazrat Ahmad Ali Khan Sahib Rahmatullahu Alehi [Khalifa Ji Sahib] once asked Huzur Maharaj to go and beg alms. For many days Huzur Maharaj kept on begging for alms without self-possession or feeling ashamed. One day his Master asked him to stop begging and told him, “I am pleased with you. You have come successful through this test.”
Huzur Maharaj had the fortune of living for twenty-two years in the company of his Master. His life had been full of extraordinary events. His conduct showed how the dictates of scriptures could be followed in one’s life. He was always content and satisfied. His Master chose him as his ‘Main Khalifa’ [Successor - Vicegerent] and mentioned, ‘one like you is better than ten thousand.’ His ‘Tawajjuh’ [spiritual radiations] resembled exactly that of Hazrat Janab Baqibillah Sahib Rahmatullahu Alehi, who introduced the Naqshbandi Sufi Order in India.
He did not accept offerings or did not allow anyone to touch his feet. Instead, he himself often served his disciples by looking after their comforts and requirements. Often for days together his family lived on scanty food or with no food at all. Even then if he received some money from someone, he would distribute it to others, who were in need. He spent most of his time in meditation. Once he started a dispensary and got some bottles filled up with water from a well. This water cured even those who were suffering for a long. Whatever money he earned from this, 01/40 of that he kept for himself and the rest he gave to others. As the dispensary became very popular, he discontinued it after some time.
Huzur Maharaj lived a very simple and pious life. He used to put on very clean white clothes. He was very kind-hearted and had no prejudice against any religion or caste. Persons from all classes and belonging to all religions including Hindus, Muslims and Christians used to visit him. He used to say to Hindus, “you have come to me to seek spiritual knowledge. Do that and live in accordance with the requirements of your society and the respective rituals. Your relation with me is not temporal but spiritual.” He was the singular saint on the earth who strived for the diffusion of this useful knowledge of Sufi esotericism without any discrimination of caste, creed or any other barrier and this method of practice amongst the Hindus. He was completely free from religious bias and never participated in any religious debates or disputes nor did he ever criticise any religion. If someone criticised any religion in his presence, he would leave that place. He pronounced that spirituality is one but religions are many. One should follow the dictates of one’s religion and should not be guided by religious prejudices. Social or religious rituals do not bind spiritual life. if anyone suggested that he would convert and adopt Islam, he used to feel very upset. He disapproved of conversion rejecting it outright. He used to admonish the person concerned, “now you are not worth visiting me. I shall not allow anyone to put a spot on me. You should continue to abide by the dictates of the religion which you belong to the attain spirituality.”
Once, one of his Hindu disciples adopted Islamic traditions. When he reached him, Huzur Maharaj told him that he no longer deserved to visit him, Huzur Maharaj asked him to readopt the Hindu traditions, the religion in which he was born.
Apartheid [अछूतों अथवा ग़ैर-हिन्दुओं का वहिष्कार] was prominent during those days, Huzur Maharaj did not touch even dried chilies meant for the consumption of his Hindu disciples. Separate food used to be cooked for them. When he visited any of the congregations arranged by Mahatma Ram Chandra [Laalaa Ji], his disciple and the chief vicegerent] or if the food came from his house, he would use his separate utensils or would take the food in a ‘pattal’ [leaf-plate]. At times he did not use any utensils and used to take food straight in his hand and drank water also using his hands. When the ‘prasad’ [offering to the Lord] used to be distributed, he would ask some Hindus to bring ‘prasad’ and distribute it. He used to say everyone and observe the tradition of one’s religion. Though he had accepted many of his disciples, he declared Laalaa Ji to be his spiritual successor. This is a unique and unparallel example of a Muslim Sufi giving away his entire spiritual treasure to a Hindu without conversion.
Mahatma Brijmohan Lal Sahib has written in his book – जीवन चरित्र पूज्य लाला जी साहिब व चच्चा जी महाराज Jeevan Charitra Pujya Laalaa Ji Sahib va Chachchaa Ji Maharaj [1993 edition, published by – Sant Prakashan] on pages 07 and 08, as given below –
Before the birth of Mahatma Brijmohan Lal Ji Sahib, his mother had become a bit old and had no children. His brother and mother wished that they should take him with them on pilgrimage and worship and recognize 'Setubandha Rameswaram'. Pujyapaad Laalaa Ji Sahib made all these requests to his Gurudev [Huzur Maharaj].
“One day, after asking for some clean fresh water from Pujyapaad Laalaa Ji Sahib, he looked at it full of love and prayed to God and said - "Take this water and give it to the daughter to drink and wait for God's mercy."
“Pujya Mata ji [Shrimati Jayadevi Ji Sahiba – wife of Mahatma Raghubar Dayal ji Sahib] used to say that ten months after this incident, Mahatma Brijmohan Lal Ji Sahib was born, and when he was four-five months old in the womb She had severe pain in her abdomen and feared miscarriage."
“Pujyapaad Laalaa Ji Sahib sent a request letter [through] the hand of Shri Chitter Kanhar to his Gurudev Huzur Maharaj, who at that time was living in 'Raipur' Tehsil - Kaimganj, District - Farrukhabad presented this request letter to Shriman Huzur Maharaj. Huzur Maharaj Shah Sahib wrote a reply at four o'clock in the morning and sent it through Shri Chitter Kanhar. After the evening of the second day, Shri Chitter Kanhar reached Tehsil Aligarh District - Farrukhabad. Pujyapaad Laalaa Ji Sahib was 'Naib Nazir' [Assistant Court Inspector] Tehsil Aligarh, District - Farrukhabad and the younger brother [Mahatma Raghubar Dayal and his family] etc. were with him there. Pujyapaad Laalaa Ji Sahib read Sadgurudev's ‘Hidayatnama’ [letter of instructions], it was written in it that "-
"There is full hope from Allah-Ta-Ala's Zat-Pak that when He has accepted the prayer of this Asi-Pur-Muasi servant by His grace, then there should be no danger of any kind. That is a great grace. -O-Karam Wala. Inshallah, my grandson will be born -

and I name him Brijmohan Lal."
Huzur Maharaj used to teach Persian, also. A young boy, the son of a rich person, used to visit him [Huzur Maharaj] to learn Persian. One day Huzur Maharaj asked him about his intention, as the boy was not interested in learning Persian. The boy did not say anything initially, but after some time told Huzur Maharaj that he wanted to marry a lady and wanted to learn some ‘Mantra’, which could make her agree to marry him. Huzur Maharaj kept quiet. Later, one night he was sitting on the ‘roof’ and the light of the Moon was falling on him [Huzur Maharaj]. This boy along with many others also was sitting in the ‘Satsang’. Huzur Maharaj was wearing clean white clothes and had also applied some perfume. Some flowers were also lying there. Suddenly, he turned towards this boy and asked him, “my son, see towards me. Is that lady even more beautiful than me?” Huzur Maharaj was looking very enchanting. The boy looked towards Huzur Maharaj and was stunned as if he was a statue. From that day things changed entirely for him. In place of the desire for that lady, the boy’s heart got filled with the love of Huzur Maharaj. In one moment, his destiny had been changed.
A relative of Nawab Samsabad [in district Farrukhabad UP India, not of Iran] got attracted towards a lady and wanted to marry her but she was not agreed to the marriage. He came to seek the help of Huzur Maharaj. Huzur Maharaj told him a ‘Mantra’ and asked him to practice it. After some days, in place of attraction for that lady, this person found himself attracted towards Huzur Maharaj. He wished Huzur Maharaj, who very kindly accepted and initiated [Bayat] him.
Similarly, an advocate who earlier had an affair with a lady used to visit Huzur Maharaj. Once this advocate happened to face the lady in an isolated place. Both of them felt that they could not control themselves. Immediately they saw Huzur Maharaj standing there at the door of the premises. For some time, they thought it to be their imagination as it was impossible that Huzur Maharaj could be present there. As they moved closer, this time they found Huzur Maharaj standing in between them. They moved apart and thus were saved from falling prey to lust in that weak moment.
A hagiographic story comes down to us, through a title ‘Autobiography Of A Sufi’ [published by ‘B. R. Publishing Corporation, Delhi 110052 - ISBN 13: 9788176467445], on pages 96 to 98, seems worth mentioning here in the sequence, the text of which reads as under –
“I have read a lot of stories related to various devotees. In the chain of this Order as well, there have been some such great persons, who have looked at the face of their Master once, were stuck by that glimpse for the rest of their life. When they looked at the mirror, they saw the reflection of the face of their beloved smiling in the mirror. I am proud that my Master has showered such grace on me that he has accepted me as one of such persons in the chain.
I was then about 20 or 21 years old I constantly and undoubtedly used to feel absorbed in my Master and I used to feel as if it was, he, who was walking, who was sitting and who was performing all my actions in place of me and that I had no existence of my own but it was he all over.
Absorbed in the thought of my beloved, once I was buying some vegetables in the vegetable market. In the process, I interacted with the owner of the market, who was a lady for a few moments. Her young daughter about 15-16 years old, who was nearby and towards whom I had not even looked so far, was looking at the glimpse of my beloved in me without blinking her eyes and she was stuck with that. I came to my senses only then, when she pointed towards me and told her mother-“Mother, I would marry him alone”. The onlookers were astonished by her sincere demand. I did not pay much attention to it and returned to my home. But that pretty girl was absorbed in the image she had seen in me for a moment. At home, she repeated her request to her mother and said that she would not survive if she did not marry me. Her family members tried to reason her out but she was unmoved. She was suffering the pangs of separation and kept on crying. One day her family members felt that she would not be able to survive anymore. I was informed about it. Her mother very humbly requested me to save the life of her only daughter by marrying her. For a moment I felt this to be my duty to save her life and for that, if I marry her, there was nothing wrong with it. I also shared the thoughts crossing my mind with my wife. After pondering over for a few moments, she again showed me the right path saying-“this dilemma can be resolved only by him, who is playing with it. You should narrate the entire story to Huzur Maharaj and seek his guidance for us to do accordingly”. I followed her advice. Having heard my narration, he first smiled and then adopting a serious posture he said- “My son Puttulal! What are you saying? You should have thought about what would happen to my daughter-in-law and my grandchildren. Your argument is baseless. You should not enter into this fray. It is not right for you in any way. Why should you worry even if that girl dies? If she dies remembering a person like you, who is so pious and absorbed in his beloved, what could be better than this for her”. And it happened so. She had again saved me from a difficult situation. The lover keeps on communicating with the beloved even though he may appear quiet. All his being speaks; it transmits a pure signal, a pure vibration.”
Laalaa Ji mentions another such instance in his Autobiography referred to as above. “Amongst us co-disciples, there was a young person, who besides attending the Satsang of Huzur Maharaj used to visit a lady in a brothel. Some friends brought this to the notice of Huzur Maharaj. He told them to inform him the next time when this young man visits the lady. The next time when the young man went to see the lady, Huzur Maharaj was informed of it. Huzur Maharaj took a bath, changed his dress, applied some scent and proceeded along with others to the brothel. It was a small place and the lady also knew Huzur Maharaj. She was surprised to see Huzur Maharaj, who asked her to sing a song. She sang some songs, which to her understanding could be of interest to Huzur Maharaj. After hearing the songs Huzur Maharaj enquired about her charges for the night and paid her the fees. Huzur Maharaj was then around sixty. The lady and everyone else was taken aback that such a saint would stay in the brothel for the night. Huzur Maharaj, however, asked all others to go back. After everyone else left, Huzur Maharaj told the lady, ‘For tonight you are in my service and you will have to obey whatever I command. I do not like your jewellery, remove them first and then take bath.’ Huzur Maharaj had carried with him a pair of his wife’s clothes, which he asked the lady to wear after the bath. The lady complied with it. After that Huzur Maharaj asked her to offer five prayers to him (five Namaz). The lady thought for a moment what trouble she had invited for herself by accepting the fees and then told Huzur Maharaj that she did not know how to offer prayers. Huzur Maharaj told her, “You are in my service tonight and you shall have to do what I say. It does not matter that you do not know how to offer prayers. Repeat what I do.” She started imitating Huzur Maharaj. When Huzur Maharaj put his head on the ground (in Sijda), she also did the same. At that moment Huzur Maharaj prayed, “O Almighty, with Your kind grace I have brought this lady up to this point. Now it is ‘You’ and she.” Huzur Maharaj then left that place and came back home but that lady was frozen in that posture. Throughout the night she lay in that posture. In the morning her mother woke her up. On opening her eyes, she was baffled. She looked around and told her mother, “Whatever I could earn for you, I have already handed it over to you. Your jewellery is lying there. These clothes are not yours and now I am going away.
There was a ‘neem’ [Azadirachta Indica, family - Meliaceae] tree in front of Huzur Maharaj’s house. At around eleven in the morning, she came there and sat under the tree. Huzur Maharaj spotted her and told his wife to bring her inside and give her some food. After she had finished with the food, Huzur Maharaj enquired with her whether she wanted to come out of that life and spend a life of piety in future. She immediately agreed to it. Huzur Maharaj then asked her to pray to the Almighty to forgive her for her past and called that young man and asked him if he liked that lady and wished to marry her. Huzur Maharaj then got them married and initiated both of them in the Order.
Huzur Maharaj took spiritual transmission constantly for more than twenty years and completed the spiritual education brim-full. He was only the right heir of his Master, Hazrat Maulvi Ahmad Ali Khan Sahib [widely known as Khalifa Ji Sahib]. He was foretold by his Master to have an eye on a Hindu boy. It is said - “It was an old incident relating to the time when Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj had come to Kaimganj. A lot of people had gathered. Besides Aryasamajis, scholars and saints belonging to other religions had also gathered to listen to him. He [Huzur Maharaj] along with his ‘Pir-o-Murshadna’ [his Spiritual Master] Hazrat Maulana Shah Ahmad Ali Khan Sahib Rahmatullahu Alehi [widely known as Khalifa JI Sahib] also had gone to listen to him. When both of them were returning after attending the last seminar, on the way back Hazrat Khalifa Ji Sahib [my Master’s Master] had asked my revered Master [Huzur Maharaj] - ‘you must also raise a similar vibrant personality [Javan mard] for the progress of the Mission of this SILSILA-E-ALIYA. My Daadaa Guru [Master’s Master] had asked him to raise a person - exactly like Swami Dayanand. In reply, my Master bowed his head down and said - ‘this servant has grown only a babul tree [acacia tree]. The revered Daadaa Gurudev had raised his hands towards the sky in prayer and then he made his forecast - ‘God willing, he would so bloom that he would take upon himself all the pains and difficulties of the world to bear them in his heart and would spread greenery and comfort all over.”

Till he left this mortal world, Huzur Maharaj was in full senses. At the time
he was breathing his last, he was absorbed in reciting “Kalma-Sharif” [prayers
of Holy Qur’an] and he kept on telling that “now my ‘Rooh’ (life force) has
withdrawn from my feet; now from my knees and now from my waist. Lastly, he
said that now everyone should focus his attention towards the Almighty since my
‘Rooh’ [soul] is now getting withdrawn from my heart.
Everyone present there got absorbed in deep meditation [Faiz ki Dhar mein doobe huye the फैज़ की धार में डूबे हुये थे ‘Were immersed in the torrent of Faiz’ = Spiritual Faiz is ultimately light [called Noor in Urdu]. It is constantly being passed down from Allah [SWT] to His Beloved Prophet (saw) to distribute.)].” On opening their eyes, they found that Huzur Maharaj had left his mortal body for becoming one with the Supreme Being. It was then 03 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, 30th November 1907 [AD]. His tomb is situated in the west side of Qasba - Raipur [near Eidgah on its Southern minaret] in the town of Kaimganj, District Farrukhabad.

#Although it is his ‘grave’, since most of the visitors are either Hindus and
for many more reasons, this ’Tomb’ is famous as “samadhi, [Sanskrit: “total
self-collectedness”] in Indian Philosophy and religion, and particularly in
Hinduism, the highest state of mental concentration that people can achieve
while still bound to the body and which unites them with the highest reality.
Samadhi is a state of profound and utterly absorptive contemplation of the
Absolute that is undisturbed by desire, anger, or any other ego-generated
thought or emotion. It is a state of joyful calm, or even of rapture and
beatitude, in which one maintains one’s full mental alertness acuity In
Buddhism, samadhi is the last of the eight steps leading to enlightenment [the Eight-fold Path].

Dear one, dearer that my life, live long. I pray for your progress. I returned from Delhi on the eleventh Moharram [name of Islamic - calendar]. The blessings and the grace received there are beyond description, a share of which you would have also received. Inform me about your health.
Dear brother, live long. I have received your letter but could not send you a reply earlier due to the ill health of the boys and my cold to myself. Please forgive me. I am not so fortunate that my daughters may visit me! Had ever the eyelids felt heavy on the eyes? It would be a pleasure for me but I think of the inconvenience it might cause to you. It does not mean I am saying 'no' to you; nay, never. Looking at the weather, however, I think it would be inconvenient for you. I am very pleased with you and keep on praying for you day and night. Far or near, no matter, far or near. There was no need to seek my permission in this situation. Blessings for dear Raghubar Dayal and Laalaa Chimman Lal.

Live long, the most favoured One! Let me inform you after blessings that I have not received your welfare for quite some time causing anxiety. I am fully agreeing with you, so I would like to know whether you have moved from there or not. The month of Ramzan has arrived. I intend to keep awake in the night in remembrance and for offering prayers, to the best of my capacity. Those, who can do so, may also follow. Though I possess nothing, my resolution is firm. You may also pray.
O my son; dearer than life, live long. My prayers are for your long life. I have received two letters from you. Indeed the love for the elders of the hierarchy is extremely auspicious. What to talk of worldly treasures, the heavenly treasures are nothing before it. Allah, the Glorious One may keep you always under His protection and tranquillity. No letter was received from dear Chimman Laal, for a long time but often I remember him. You must pass on my greetings to him. I had fallen ill for some time and am still unwell. Please pray for my spiritual and physical health.
Respected broth, the grace of Allah, the Great, be upon you. I am glad to have received your letter. I am still unwell, growing dizzy and feeling weak. Brother, nowadays there is no sign of the existence of a true Master [pir or sadguru] and it is not the fault of people, but a result of our vices. As people play different games, they also pretend to be Masters. Neither there are true seekers nor true Masters. God save you from an evil eye, there are few dedicated seekers and equally, few true Masters. But what can be done --- ---. The least you can do is not to invite any blemish for the elders of the hierarchy, behave decently and meet affectionately with all. Even then if they dislike you, pray for them that Satan has misled them and they deserve to be treated kindly. If you cannot do that, engage in the continuous remembrance of God and shed all your desires and ego and be absorbed in the self. Do not get involved with others, attend to your official duty and utilise the remaining time in the remembrance of God. It is His will that would prevail. If someone visits you, attend to him and if no one comes, no complaint. This is an excellent state of being modest. There should be no intentional laxity on our part so that those, who associate with us, may not be won over by Satan. For them pray and use your willpower. I consider you to be in the same position [spirituality], as I and my determination are so firm that I do not consider anything impossible. Whatever I resolve, it happens and manifests. Why then you lose hope? It is my weakness that is reflected in you. It should not happen that the congregation may be spoiled. Invite all and resolve firmly seeking pardon from God and praying for me. Let your love for each other, take care of all of you, get absorbed in this mutual love and consider me as dead. Assume the responsibility that you have to discharge after me.
Dated - 31.05.1899 [AD]: My dearest One, greetings to you. After due regards let me divulge that I am happy to read your letter. God, the Glorious One may fulfil all your worldly and spiritual desires. Amen! I would focus on, and pray for both and I hope that both would be fulfilled. I feel that the attention of the spirits of the elders of the Order is focused on you. In such a situation, there is nothing that can prove obstruction in your way. And why should it not be so because there is no one who is so loving and firm in the faith, as you are?
My dear Munshi Ram Chandra Saheb, live long. After due greetings let me inform you that for the ladies, your attention should be focussed on the [sal'ahe Kul sulh-e-kul*[सुल्ह-ए-कुलصلح کل perfect reconciliation] and use your will-power that they follow the virtuous path. Keep looking towards God. God has blessed you with such a power that whatever you, God - willing would happen. Greetings to Munshi Chimman Laal. Do not fall into oblivion and this issue should be resolved intelligently.

*Sulh-i kul is an Arabic term literally meaning “peace with all,” “universal peace,” or “absolute peace,” drawn from a Sufi mystic principle. As applied by the third Mughal Emperor of India, Akbar (who reigned 1556-1605), it described a peaceful and harmonious relationship among different religions. In keeping with efforts to mesh the diverse populations of his realm, Akbar proposed unity and peace among all human beings – sulh-i kul. The concept implies not just tolerance, but also the sorts of balance, civility, respect, and compromise required to maintain harmony among a diverse population.

Dated - 22.10.1899: My dearest One, live long. I am happy to read your letter. god, the Glorious One may fulfil all your desires. Amen! The grace of the elders of this Order is on you. The beginners associated with you are better than the accomplished ones of the others. Khwaja Naqshband bestows -
"The beginning of the seekers of this Order starts whereas the others finish;
And the altimeter state of the seekers of this Order is that the pockets of desires are empty."
[they have no desire whatsoever.]
when God desire, the beginners become the finishers. Hope would keep me informed of your worldly and spiritual affairs.
My dear brother, live long. Your letter made me happy and am satisfied. God, the Glorious One may keep you happy and unblemished in both worlds. amen! I am sorry to learn about the boys suffering from fervour. May the Almighty God make them fully healthy very soon. Amen! I am, however, writing two talismans for the boys, put these around their necks. This pious name is very effective in cases of cholera, smallpox and plague. You are given permission to use it as deemed fit. God willing, it would definitely prove effective. I have received a letter from dear Raghubar Dayal, which mentioned of some unpleasantness but thereafter I have not heard anything about it. Please convey my greeting and tell him that he should have informed me about this matter. Also, convey my greetings to dear Chimman Laal and tell him that he should also make copies of this talisman and put it around the neck of his children, as well. All of you should keep yourselves engaged in the remembrance of God.
Dated - 02.04.1900: Came to know about Munshi Chimman Laal's welfare. Allah, the Glorious One may soon make him a successful Mukhtar [a senior court official]. I am very pleased with him. May the Almighty God make him and you both happy and successful in both worlds.
All the praise is upon god. I have returned home comfortably after paying a visit to Ajmer-sharif. I would tell you personally about the grace showered on this most significant one, sometime. I did not deserve this. Prayed for you and others, as well.
Dated - 13.12.1901: After due greetings let me inform you that you reached here and came to know about your welfare. Although you have written now I have been sensing this frailty for quite some time. Guidance is conferring eminence, the friendship of enmity, it is all at all the will of Allah, the Glorious One. He showers His grace or wrath, as He wishes. This show that is going on, is called the world. Getting stuck to, it is not desirable. You should look at this relentlessness and be happy. Wait for the outcome. Keep no hope from anyone else, except the Almighty God. Everything in the world is perishable. There is a limit to one's affection or enmity, it is undesirable to be fascinated with such things. Keep me informed about your welfare. I pray for your well-being in both worlds.
Dated - 26.02.1902: May God grant you healthy and long life. After due greetings let me inform you that your cover [letter] reached here, which made me happy. The Almighty God may make you a beacon for the world. Tell the beloved ones that the world is transitory and the time spent in His remembrance alone is the time spent gainfully. You must write to Laalaa Madan Mohan Laal and Insha- Allah [God willing], it would help him. He is a deserving candidate. Dear Krishna Sahai is really a jovial person. God willing the marriage ceremony of the girls would surely be performed well. There is definitely some reason for it. Our esteem is in the hands of God, rest assured.
