INTRO-CESSION : LAALAAJI NILAYAM
Bringing forth ‘Laalaaji Nilayam’ to curious attention; its expeditious recital would be a ‘cloister’, an abode of religious fraternity substantiated by a Naqshmbandiya [Sufi] mystic, Mahatma Ram Chandra, affectionately known as ‘Laalaa Ji’ [1873-1931]. Laalaa Ji Sahib is known, not only, as Aadi-guru of ’Sahaj Marg’ or ‘Heart-fulness’ the worldwide spiritual movement, but of course, a ‘Sufi-Shaykh’ [Spiritual Master] greatly acknowledged even today. He was noviciated [admitted formally in to tradition as disciple] without conversion into Islam by his Pir-o-Murshad [Spiritual Master], Hazrat Maulana Fazl Ahmad Khan Sahib Rahmatullah Alehi, and he is Laalaa Ji and Laalaa Ji alone who brought the ’Sufism’ out from the ritualistic boundaries of sectarianism, making it accessible to one and all, irrespective of any caste and religion. According to Laalaa Ji Sahib, Sufism means mysticism as applied to natural sciences and thus a new genealogy sprung from the hierarchy of Laalaa Ji Sahib, but of course, adding no genetic name of any particular ‘religion’. This is how ‘Laalaaji Nilayam’ is felicitous as supreme holy-place, where all and sundry, who owe allegiance to same banyan tree, come from far and wide in millions prevalent in some more 100 nations abroad, to genuflect, every off and on.
The realities of things are permanent, the world is transitory; and the reality about Laalaa Ji is that he is living example of a Hadith of Holy-Quran, which says - “poverty is my pride.” Laalaa Ji is epitome of ’simplicity’ and ’sacrifice’. Laalaa Ji is one who preached renunciation to the house-holders, ie, guarding one’s self against seeing “other than God”, in this world and the world beyond the veil. These were his ideals to breath, which kept his eternal body alive and active, while he was in his physical form and his entity is to the view by the cardiac-eye, here in ‘Laalaaji Nilayam’, even now.
This is the Holy Place where H. H. Mahatma Ram Chandra Ji [Laalaa Ji] Maharaj lived from 1905 till His demise on 14th August 1931 and during this space of time, ‘Laalaaji Nilayam’ had been the heart-throb of a great ‘socio-spiritual’ movement, thereby, he worked for al-round felicity and the upheaval of humanity.
